CoMedia ry is a subject association of communication students

at the University Of Vaasa (founded in 1991). CoMedia ry is Finland’s largest communication students’ association and there are about 400 members in total. One of our main purposes is to handle supervision of our members interests, social policy and organize events in campus. CoMedia actively monitors the interests of its members and maintains an ongoing dialogue with staff and VYY on topical issues.

 

Students in the bachelor's programme and in the master’s programmes in Technical communication (TEVI), Communication in organizations and Digital media, can join as members. A person or association with legal capacity can become a supporting member of CoMedia ry.

CoMedia is a productive and active student association. At our events, students get to relax, network, and make connections to working life. Our biggest events take place in the autumn and spring.

Ahventien Appros 

Ahventie Appro’s is held every autumn at the legendary Ahventie in Palosaari. The event combines the best of traditional- and home appros. You can participate either as a walker or as a host. This event is traditionally crowned by a spectacular continuation in the Vaasa Night.

C-sähly (floorball tournament) 

The C-sählyt are one of CoMedia's oldest traditional events, where the sporting spirit is raised to the roof in a fun-filled telegraph tournament. The event pits different organisations and groups of friends against each other on the rink for huge prizes. There's also room for bench sports, as enthusiastic spectators are also welcome!

Colo 

Colo is CoMedia's own subject organisation room, located in the subject organisation corridor of the Technobothnia building. The entrance to the hallway is on the wall facing Fabriikki.

 

CoMedia's board of directors is on duty in the Colo every week (every Tuesday from 11 to 14). You can come and pick up your jumpsuit stamps or just say hello to the board members and other members!
